We know this is a gravel podcast, but this week we couldn’t help but welcome adaptive mountain biker – Annijke Wade. As a Black disabled cyclist, Annijke gives us insight into her experience of the cycling community.
Sharing the life-altering story of her paralyzing mountain bike accident, Annijke outlines that it wasn’t just losing feeling in her legs that was devastating, it was also not being able to engage with her community in the same way. With the cycling community and well as the sport being so important to her, Annijke continues to race, and train as a paraathlete. Annijke shares how to be a better ally and what Black history month means to her.
