Live in the Moment with Lisa Becharas (S14E15)

In this Episode

On this week’s episode Alyssa and Haley chat with professional triathlete Lisa Becharas to hear about her 8th place finish at Ironman 70.3 Texas this past weekend. This was the first Ironman event in 2021, and Lisa tells us about what it was like to race there during pandemic restrictions.

Lisa raced her first triathlon as a professional in 2018, but before pursuing triathlon she was a collegiate runner and went on to coach collegiate track and cross country. She tells us about her decision to transition into triathlon and pursue her elite license, as well as the unique experience she had in her first year as a pro working at race expos and living the #vanlife.

A calf injury early in her pro career kept Lisa from running for most of the 2019 season, but she explains how she was still able to enter races and make the most of a less than ideal situation by seeing each race as an opportunity to learn from the moment.
