Running to the Top with Tamara Jewett (S16E1)

In this Episode

This week on the podcast Haley and Alyssa chat with professional triathlete and lawyer Tamara Jewett. Tamara is fresh off a win at Timberman 70.3 where she posted a blistering 1:14 half marathon to run her way onto the top step of the podium. After bursting onto the 70.3 pro scene in 2019, Tamara was poised to have an all star season in 2020, but she tells us how she made the most of the year off 70.3 racing and still managed to squeeze in some events close to home in Canada.

Tamara was a track athlete at the University of Toronto, and we hear about her post-collegiate transition from running to triathlon. She speaks openly about her struggles with chronic injuries and an eating disorder during her years on the track, and gives advice for coaches that may have athletes facing the same challenges.

Haley gives us a breakdown of the Ironman 70.3 Worlds course in St. George, and we hear how Alyssa’s mountain bike skills are coming along!
