Stepping into Adventure with Carla Molinaro (S14E3)

In this Episode

This week on the IronWomen Podcast Haley and Alyssa are chatting with ultra-runner Carla Molinaro. In the summer of 2020 Carla ran the Lejog Route in the UK which spans from Lands End at the southernmost tip of England to John o’Groats at the northern tip of Scotland, covering the 824mile route in a record-breaking 12 days, 30 minutes and 14 seconds. She tells us what went into planning the trip, gives us the breakdown of her sleep and fuelling strategies, and what her recovery looked like after the massive effort.

Carla is a Hoka sponsored athlete, and she will be running in the Project Carbon X 2 100k on January 23rd in an attempt to set the British and European 100km record. She gives us some of her tips on how to combine faster race efforts with long endurance adventures when planning your season and training. Watch her record attempt at hokaoneone.com.

Haley gives us an update on winter life in Bozeman and we check in on Alyssa’s marathon training progress.
