Scholarships now available for the Outspoken: Women in Triathlon Summit thanks to Women For Tri

Women For Tri joins forces with the Outspoken: Women in Triathlon Summit to support women triathletes

Denver, Colorado, USA – August 8, 2019 – The producers of the Outspoken: Women in Triathlon Summit are proud to announce a continued partnership with Women For Tri® , an initiative of IRONMAN® and the IRONMAN Foundation®. Women For Tri will provide a full-ride scholarship to one successful applicant to cover registration, lodging and flight and will also host the Saturday night celebration dinner.

Marnie Oshan, Director of Global Athlete Development at IRONMAN, is excited to partner once again with the Outspoken Summit: “Women for Tri, which was launched by IRONMAN in 2015 in order to increase female participation at all levels of triathlon, seeks to identify and diminish barriers to entry and to encourage and engage female athletes throughout the sport. By providing a scholarship to the Outspoken Summit, we hope to help create more female advocates and leaders within triathlon and help us in our mission to grow participation across a diverse female audience.”

Dr. Sara Gross, one of the co-founders of the Outspoken Summit shares: “The Summit is about women’s equity and leadership and we simply cannot ignore the fact that triathlon is an expensive sport. The scholarships are an important part of making the Summit accessible to a wider demographic.”

“We are so happy Women For Tri will be supporting the Summit again this year. The full-ride scholarship they are offering, as well as their sponsorship of one of our receptions, is invaluable. The Summit’s success is dependent on organizations and businesses recognizing the need for what we are trying to do. Women For Tri and IRONMAN are an important part of this journey” says Dr. Lisa Ingarfield, Summit co-founder.

In addition to the Women For Tri full-ride scholarship, the Outspoken Summit is offering discounted registration scholarships. To apply for all scholarship opportunities, click here. The scholarship application will be open until Friday, September 13th, 2019.

Continuing this year, full-time students and pro triathletes in their first three years of elite competition are eligible for a 30% discount. New for 2019, the Outspoken team is also offering a 10% discount for both active duty military and veterans. If you qualify for a discount, please contact info@shiftsports.org for discount codes.
