Outspoken: Women in Triathlon Summit Announces partnership with Cervélo

Major manufacturer of road, track, and triathlon bicycles joins the growing number of industry giants supporting change

DENVER, CO – October 2, 2019 –  The producers of the Outspoken: Women in Triathlon Summit presented by Triathlete Magazine are excited to announce a Juno level partnership with Cervélo for the Summit this fall, November 15th – November 17th in Tempe, AZ.

The Outspoken Summit will provide a rich learning experience for all attendees regardless of triathlon or current leadership experience. The theme, Leading From the Inside Out, encourages attendees to look at their “why” and develop strategies for change in the sport. Topics covered include gender identity, diversity and inclusion, inclusive race directing and coaching, and how to develop your brand and pitch your story.

“Cervélo has always designed bikes for athletes, not a particular gender. By partnering with programs like Outspoken we can open the dialogue around diversity and inclusion, keeping it top of mind in all aspects of cycling” says Cervélo Marketing Manager, Sarah Taylor. “The mission of Outspoken rings true and we want to be a part of this community that inspires the next generation of women in triathlon.”

“Cervelo was my first bike sponsor back in 2008,” says Dr. Sara Gross, Summit co-founder and Ironman Champion, “I’m thrilled to have such an industry giant on board. It’s reassuring to have so many companies get behind the Summit and our vision to make lasting change for women in triathlon.”

Outspoken co-founder and researcher in gender equity, Dr. Lisa Ingarfield believes having so many big industry names supporting the Summit is crucial: “As we often say, change doesn’t come easily, and it takes a village. Thinking about solutions to the persistent problem of women’s sustained participation in triathlon has to be a joint effort between athletes, business owners, industry leaders, and race producers. Cervélo’s stated commitment to social responsibility makes it a key partner in this effort. We are thrilled to have them on board.” Cervélo is also sponsoring the pre-summit, Triathlon: Inclusive and Excellent.

Additional sponsorship opportunities exist for companies looking to become a part of the change Outspoken is looking to ignite. Contact the Outspoken team to learn more at info@shiftsports.org.
