Outspoken: Women in Triathlon Summit Announces Partnership with Zoot Sports

Triathlon apparel giant joins the movement calling for women’s equity in the sport.

Denver, Colorado, USA July 1, 2019 – The producers of the Outspoken: Women in Triathlon Summit presented by Triathlete Magazine are pleased to announce a partnership with Zoot Sports for the Summit this fall, November 15th – November 17th in Tempe, AZ.

The goal of the Outspoken Summit is to provide a platform for a rich and multilayered conversation about women’s equity in Triathlon and ultimately to create an inclusive culture and increase women’s leadership in the sport.

The 2019 Summit will provide a rich learning experience for all attendees regardless of triathlon or current leadership experience. The theme, Leading From the Inside Out, encourages attendees to look at their “why” and develop strategies for personal and organizational change. Topics covered include gender identity, diversity and inclusion, inclusive race directing and coaching, and how to develop your brand and pitch your story.

“Zoot believes in Ohana, family. We supported Sara Gross, summit co-founder and Ironman Champion, for over 10 years both as an amateur racer on Team Zoot and throughout her professional career. We believe in the mission of Outspoken and want to continue to inspire the next generation of women in the sport of triathlon” says Zoot’s President, Shawn O’Shea.

“Zoot is focused on the sport of triathlon and I believe the Outspoken Summit can create change in a sport where women are underrepresented.  We are deeply passionate about the sport of triathlon and honored to support a platform to elevate women’s presence, participation and leadership in triathlon.”

Outspoken co-founder and researcher in gender equity, Dr. Lisa Ingarfield echoed O’Shea’s sentiments: “We are tremendously excited to have Zoot on board as a Juno level sponsor for Outspoken 2019. They are a giant in the sport of triathlon, and their recognition of the relevance and importance of what we are trying to do with Outspoken is deeply appreciated. It sends a message that this is an area we all need to be invested in.”

“I was very fortunate to have the support of Zoot Sports throughout my professional career” says Dr. Sara Gross, “Mostly because they are a one-stop shop for all things triathlon. Having Zoot’s support for the Outspoken Summit and knowing they are a company willing to get behind our mission is the icing on the cake.”

Additional sponsorship opportunities are available for companies looking to become a part of the change Outspoken is looking to ignite. Contact the Outspoken team to learn more at info@shiftsports.org.
