Dismantling Idioms (Episode 97)

In this Episode

Our daily language is filled with all sorts of idioms and phrases. Like most things, these idioms have historical origins that can often be rooted in racism. This week, Shaunna and Lisa run through multiple examples of racially rooted phrases and give us alternatives to use in our everyday conversations.

Using examples like “master bedroom”, “low hanging fruit”, “cake walk”, and many more, the duo discusses the impact of these phrases regardless of intention.
