Outspoken: Women in Triathlon Summit Will Offer Continuing Education Accreditation for Coaches and Race Directors

The Summit will provide a rich learning experience for all attendees

Denver, Colorado, USA — July 17, 2018 – The producers of the Outspoken: Women in Triathlon Summit presented by Triathlete Magazine are pleased to announce that ten (10) Continuing Education Units (CEUs) will be available for USA Triathlon-certified coaches, and four (4) for certified race directors at the Summit this fall, November 30th – December 2nd in Tempe, AZ.  CEUs are required by USA Triathlon as part of their recertification process for coaches and race directors.

The Outspoken Summit will provide a rich learning experience for all attendees regardless of triathlon or current leadership experience. Breakout sessions will be led by experts on a variety of topics including:

  • Beyond diversity to Inclusive Excellence
  • Leveraging triathlon’s lessons into effective leadership
  • Entrepreneurship and innovation
  • The unique needs of tween and teen girls
  • How to train and eat better as a female athlete

“As we continue to engage more women in the sport, and grow female leadership in the industry, the Outspoken Summit provides an excellent opportunity for women across the country to come together to learn from each other,” says Staci Brode, Vice President of USA Triathlon.

“The knowledge we can all gain from this event will enable coaches and race directors to return to their communities even better equipped to champion the growth of women in the sport and become leaders in their community.”

Outspoken co-founder and researcher in intercultural communication Dr. Lisa Ingarfield echoed Brode’s sentiments: “This Summit is an opportunity to develop community solutions to the ongoing problem of women’s equity in triathlon, while also providing a supportive learning environment for attendees to grow personally and professionally.”

“We have a wonderful history of women’s leadership in triathlon. I personally can’t wait to listen to and learn from the women who will be on stage at the Summit,” said Dr. Sara Gross, Outspoken co-founder and Ironman Champion.

Additionally, organizers are excited to announce that early-bird registration has been extended until July 31st.
